Andreu Blanes (ESP) devient officiellement le vainqueur de Sierre-Zinal 2022. Il remporte l’édition dans un temps de 02h29’19’’.

Andreu Blanes est le deuxième espagnol de l’histoire à gagner Sierre-Zinal après Kilian Jornet. Il entre ainsi dans la légende de la Course des Cinq 4000 !

Mark Kangogo a reconnu l’infraction

La suspension de Mark Kangogo est définitive. Unité d’Intégrité de l’Athlétisme nous indique ce jour que l’athlète concerné « a reconnu l’infraction, accepté une sanction et renoncé à son droit d’appel ». Pour rappel, l’athlète a été contrôlé positif à deux substances interdites par l’agence mondiale antidopage (WADA) lors de la 49ème édition de Sierre-Zinal.

Le classement Hommes a été adapté dans la catégorie « Coureur » (voir le classement officiel).
Le règlement de l’organisation stipule que les primes des athlètes contrôlés sont suspendues jusqu’à l’obtention des tests antidopage. Ces primes sont libérées une fois que les tests négatifs sont confirmés par l’UIA. Par conséquent, la prime de Mark Kangogo n’a pas été versée et sera redistribuée en fonction du nouveau classement par l’organisation de Sierre-Zinal.
