Grand Raid de La Réunion – ITW de Cathy Dubois

A 48 heures du départ de cette course mythique, interview de Cathy Dubois (Team Tecnica) qui participe à cette épreuve pour la seconde fois.
Elle a terminé troisième en 2010, s’est illustrée cette année avec une victoire sur la Maxi Race du Lac d’Annecy et à l’X-Trail de Courchevel avant de prendre la 3ème place de la CCC®.
Elle s’était révélée en 2007 en gagnant la Sainté-Lyon puis avait terminé 3ème de l’UTMB® 2008.
Elle fera partie des favorites pour un podium.

1/ Comment as tu préparé cette course ou tu n’avais pas prévu d’aller ?
Je m’étais bien préparée pour la CCC®… mais je n’avais pas prévu de faire cette course à La Réunion.
J’étais restée sur ma faim après la CCC®, avec l’envie de repartir sur d’autres courses après avoir super bien récupéré de cette épreuve.
J’ai reçu une invitation pour le Grand Raid… je n’ai pas réfléchi bien longtemps…..
J’ai alors repris l’entraînement pour cet objectif avec du vélo autour de Lyon et une grosse rando-trail dans les Ecrins.

2/  Tu réalises une belle saison avec notamment 2 victoires à la Maxi Race et à Courchevel, quelle est la différence entre Cathy 2010 et 2011 ?
J’ai toujours la même passion pour le trail et la même envie de courir.
J’ai depuis cet été changé d’orientation professionnelle avec un nouveau rythme de vie et plus de disponibilité :
J’ai donc plus de temps pour m’occuper de mes enfants et également pour m’entraîner et récupérer.
Je suis très contente de mes victoires cette saison, j’ai donc envie d’aller en chercher d’autres ou de me lancer divers défis …

3/  Quel endroit du parcours, redoutes tu le plus ?
Je redoute la sortie de Marlat et la traversée de Mafate, qui correspond à la seconde nuit ou j’avais vraiment souffert du sommeil en 2010.
La sortie de Possession est également un point clé de la course avec cette fin de parcours qui n’en finit pas !

4/ Quels conseils peux-tu donner à 48h du départ ?
Bien se reposer, bien manger, et pas se prendre la tête avec une logistique trop lourde sur les ravitaillements, il y a tout ce qu’il faut sur le parcours.
On a tout fait pour être prêt  le jour J, y’a plus qu’à…

5/ Quel sera ton programme après cette course ?
Du repos …
J’ai quelques idées de courses pour 2012 et 2013 mais rien de validé pour le moment….
J’ai également un projet personnel (professionnel) à construire.
