La nouveauté 2012 de cette élection était côté Français la distinction des catégories « Meilleur(e) Français(e) » en 2 sous catégories selon la distance : plus de 80 km et moins de 80 km. Il y aura donc eu cette année 8 catégories récompensées.

Il devance ERIK CLAVERY et JULIEN RANCON, quasiment à égalité pour la seconde place avec seulement quelques voix d’écarts pour ces deux coureurs au profil différent.

Une nouvelle récompense pour La Championne du Monde 2011, qui s’est engagée cette saison sur plusieurs courses au niveau mondiale avec encore ce week-end la finale à San Francisco de l’Endurance Challenge face aux meilleurs Américaines ou elle prend la troisième place.

Une des catégories les plus disputées jusqu’au dernier moment, qui consacre un coureur discret mais très efficace, ANTOINE GUILLON avec 28% des voix qui s’est illustré avec une nouvelle seconde place à La Réunion et à la TDS. « Le métronome » du Trail dispute actuellement La Transmartinique. Il devance de 90 voix FRANÇOIS D’HAENE, le vainqueur de l’UTMB qui dans les derniers jours à dépassé de quelques voix son coéquipier de Team JULIEN CHORIER, tous deux auteurs d’une belle saison.

KILIAN JORNET BURGADA l’emporte logiquement 51% des voix et se succède à lui même, il devance l’éternel DAWA SHERPA, qui réalise une très belle saison et prouve qu’il se bonifie avec les années et ANNA FROST. Un titre honorifique supplémentaire pour celui qu’on ne présente plus. L’extra-terrestre espagnol aura gagné toutes les courses sauf La Transvulcania (3ème).

Ce trophée est décerné cette année à ARNAUD LEJEUNE devant EMILIE LECOMTE et MICHEL LANNE.
